Screening: Crip Camp

Down the road from Woodstock, a revolution blossomed at a ramshackle summer camp for teenagers with disabilities, transforming their lives and igniting a landmark movement.

35 years after the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the rights of Americans with disabilities remain under threat. With the passing of H.R.1., the GOP’s sweeping budget bill, communities everywhere are braced for the impact of spending cuts aimed directly at our healthcare system. Now, as ever, it is vital that we listen to the stories of those with the most to lose, and learn from the examples of the activists who have gone before us.

Join us on Saturday, August 9 for a matinee screening of the award-winning documentary Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, followed by a moderated discussion. This free event will be held at the Cambria County Library’s community room.
